R&D Institute of Urea (JSC “NIIK) delegates attended 18th AFA International Fertilizer Forum held February 07-09, 2012 in Sharm-El-Shekh, Egypt. The Forum was dedicated to such problems as population growth and food security in the region. Those are the most acute issues troubling the region due to the scarcity of water resources and harsh climate. Sufficient volume of fertilizer production to satisfy both the local and increasing export demand and the crop yield improvement are the essential tasks to be performed in the region.

In December 2011 JSC NIIK has issued the first part of the detail design documentation package for the construction of the sodium cyanide production plant with the capacity 40000 mt a year.
On December 7-9, 2011 the delegation from JSC NIIK took part in an Annual Seminar and Exhibition of Indian Fertilizer Association held in New-Delhi.

More than 1500 participants attended this event. The majority of them being Indian fertilizers companies came to the seminar to exchange experiences with their colleagues. A very informative exhibition also took place as a good platform to display the development achievements and latest products of different equipment manufacturers and other companies, supporting the fertilizer production.
