Linde Group and KuibyshevAzo launched a new plant (NIIK is involved in the design).



June 19, 2018 the opening of the new state-of-the-art high- tech ammonia production plant took place at KuibyshevAzot industrial site. The plant was built as a part of joint venture of KuibyshevAzot and Linde Group (Germany)

The ceremony of launching the production was attended by the Acting Governor of the Samara Region Dmitry Azarov, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Vasiliy Osmakov, the Managing Director of Linde AG Aldo Belloni, the Head of Region Middle East and Eastern Europe at Linde Gases Division Elena Skvortsova, Director for Development of Large-Scale Projects of Linde Gas Rus, Thomas Hilker, Chairman of the Board of Directors of KuibyshevAzot Viktor Gerasimenko, General Director of KuibyshevAzot Alexander Gerasimenko, representatives of regional and city authorities and other officials.

From NIIK theу was presented the President&CEO Igor Esin and General Director Oleg Kostin.

The project was launched in 2013 within the framework of joint venture with Linde Azot Togliatti, the total volume of investment is 20 bln rubles.

NIIK has developed authority package for ammonia production and performed adaptation of Linde’s basic design to Russian norms and regulations.

The NIIK's detail design involved the following parts: construction, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (including electrical and instrumentation), sewage networks, earthing&lightening protection, fire alarm and automatic fire fighting system. An additional system for telecommunication and domestic water supply was developed for off-site facilities.

The new production capacity is 1340 TPD of ammonia and 8 000 m3/h of hydrogen. It would make possible to tackle the lack of ammonia and will allow further development of urea, ammonium sulphate nitrate and carpolactam production.
