Acron launches new urea facility designed by JSC NIIK

On March 31, Acron (Veliky Novgorod) launched a new urea facility unit. The ceremony was attended by acting Russian Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov, Novgorod Region Governor Sergey Mitin, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov and Acron top executives.
As a part of strategy to expand processing capacity, Acron invested in purchasing in Italy a production unit with capacity 1000 tons a day. Integration of the unit with the existing infrastructure will be performed by JSC NIIK.
Recognizing the complexity and immensity of new «Urea-1000» project it is necessary to emphasize that it is a significant event for «mineral fertilizer» branch as well as a major hindrance to Russia’s economic development.
JSC Acron embarked on Urea-1000 project in 2008 and the full-scale construction of the new urea unit started in 2010. The project investments totalled US$ 95 million. The capacity of the new unit is 335,000 tons a year.
