On December 2-4th, 2019, NIIK’s delegation took part in the Fertilizer Association India Annual seminar 2019 in New Delhi, India

FAI seminar traditionally is the main event of the year for the whole fertilizer industry of India. This time the event was attended by more than 1200 participants from 25 countries of Southern Asia, Middle East, Europe, USA, Canada and Australia. NIIK’s team comprised Igor Esin (president), Nikolai Lobanov (deputy director of science), Rinat Anderzhanov (Head of Laboratory No. 1), Dmitry Oleynik (Engineer of Laboratory No. 1), Dmitry Obedin (International affairs manager), Gordey Maksimov (Manager for international business development).

The discussion of the ways to increase efficiency and development dynamics of the fertilizer industry became the main theme of the seminar. Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers of the Government of India, an honored guest of the event, in his speech stressed the importance of the further upbuilding of the domestic urea production by construction of new plants and modernization of the existing ones. At the same time, this does not cancel high requirements for manufacturers in the field of improving energy efficiency of their plants. In this regard, the Government of India in the last years has been implementing the Energy Cost Reduction Program for the decrease of the energy losses, which has to reach its goal in 2022. Thanks to this Program, the most efficient Indian plants receive subsidies from the government.

It is worth mentioning that this year the company Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers (RCF) was awarded by the gratitude from the Indian Government for the most significant achievements in the field of improving the energy efficiency of its plants. No doubt, such a result became possible largely thanks to the installment of the four sets of internal devices by NIIK inside all the urea reactors of RCF Thal in 2018 and RCF Trombay in 2016.

At the request of the FAI, Rinat Anderzhanov made a presentation “Revamp of Urea Plants for Higher Capacity and Efficiency (Acron Project Case Study)“. The presentation received a serious positive feedback after the end of the event and was published in a special issue of a print edition of the FAI magazine.

Due to the great interest in NIIK’s technologies this year, within the framework of the conference our company presented an exhibition booth. During the exhibition, only at the booth NIIK’s specialists conducted more than 30 meetings with the representatives of different companies from the fertilizer sector and discussed possibilities and prospects for the development of cooperation.
It should be mentioned, that the FAI seminar once again became a good platform for the discussion of the existing NIIK’s projects in India at the level of the top management and also for the opinions exchange on the further business development and the coordination of the plans. Since NIIK today is an acknowledged leader in the field of energy efficient engineering solutions implementation, we are proud to register a high interest in cooperation with our company coming from the Indian manufacturers. Successful performance of NIIK’s sets of internal devices for the urea synthesis reactors at the largest Indian plants like Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers, Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers, Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals, Chambal Fertilizers leaves no place for doubts in economic feasibility of using NIIK technologies.
