Many years of JSC NIIK’s work in the fields of design, upgrade and engineering of chemical plants allowed to create reliable and effective solutions required by plants worldwide.
One such solution is a flexible unit for production of urea-ammonium nitrate (UAN) – a modern liquid fertilizer that combines the advantages of urea and ammonium nitrate. Thanks to this, UAN provides both short-term and long-term nutrition for plants, and remains the most flexible nitrogen fertilizer in the market. Depending on nitrogen content, UAN can be produced with a mass fraction of 28%, 30% and 32%.
UAN advantages:
- high efficiency in all the climatic zones;
- precise dosing and even distribution;
- minimum nitrogen losses during application due to absence of free ammonia;
- prolonged action;
- low operational expenses for production (minimum steam, water and energy consumption).
JSC NIIK developed a flexible unit that can use three methods for producing UAN:
- from gaseous ammonia
- from swept-off gases from urea workshop
- from ready solutions of ammonium nitrate and urea
In 2021 JSC NIIK successfully started a 1200 TPD unit and confirmed the specified parameters of capacity and product quality.
