NIIK Participates in the International Congress "Syngas Nitrogen Kazakhstan"

The congress took place on June 22–23, 2026, in Astana. The event brought together representatives from industrial enterprises, investment project developers, technology licensors, equipment manufacturers, investors, government authorities, and engineering companies.

Gathering over 100 participants, the congress has established itself as a premier industry platform for discussing the development of syngas and nitrogen chemistry in Kazakhstan and the CIS. Key discussions centered on the construction and modernization of facilities, commissioning new capacities, implementing advanced technological solutions, and improving plant efficiency. Participants also explored future growth prospects for the production of ammonia, methanol, mineral fertilizers, and other high-value-added products.

As part of the business program, NIIK CEO Oleg Drobotushchenko moderated the session titled "The Future of Gas Processing: Technologies, Engineering, and Localization." Panelists shared global operational best practices, presented new technological developments, and discussed the integration of artificial intelligence to optimize production processes.

NIIK’s invitation to moderate this session underscores the company’s leading position in engineering for the chemical and mineral fertilizer sectors. For NIIK, such events offer an invaluable opportunity to discuss promising projects with key market players and showcase the institute's expertise in design, modernization, and technical support.

Oleg Drobotushchenko: "Kazakhstan is actively developing its gas chemical sector. Over the past two years, construction has begun on several major industrial projects, the largest being the first integrated gas chemical complex in the Atyrau region. These new facilities require cutting-edge solutions in technology, logistics, equipment, and management, as today's gas chemical industry sits at the intersection of raw pragmatism and the digital revolution. The session clearly demonstrated that survival and growth in modern markets rely not simply on production volume, but on agility and the speed of innovation.

Leading licensors and EPC contractors are transitioning from being mere suppliers of 'hardware' and technology. Today, they act as strategic partners who help plant owners minimize CAPEX risks at the earliest stages and uncover hidden efficiency gains that internal audits might otherwise miss."
