JSC NIIK accumulated significant experience in the field of design and upgrade of nitric acid plants. JSC NIIK implemented projects on technical re-equipment for plants all over Russia – from replacement of gas-turbine units and implementation of low-temperature selective catalytic treatment systems to comprehensive upgrade of key production stages.
In 2020, based on an EPC-contract, JSC NIIK implemented nitric acid production plant UKL-7-76M based on gas-turbine unit GTT-3M on a production site in Russia.
New generation of engineering solutions
Modern technologies of JSC NIIK allow to create and upgrade nitric acid of different capacity – from local lines to large-scale production complexes. Among them there are plants under a unified pressure with a capacity of up to 145 000 TPY of monohydrate based on gas-turbine units GTT-9 characterized by high economic efficiency and reduced energy consumption. Solutions adapted to specific customers include both revamp of the existing plants and construction of new concentrated nitric acid complexes.
New technical solutions of JSC NIIK:
- increase of the plant capacity;
- use of the advanced gas-turbine unit;
- optimization of equipment structural design;
- improvement of environmental performance.
During creation of the advanced technology, process modeling was carried out using binary interaction parameters according to e-NRTL model, which made it possible to achieve optimal distribution of heat streams and improve the energy balance.
Plant UKL-7-76M, created on the basis of JSC NIIK’s technology, demonstrates high conversion, increased capacity and reduced consumption of utilities. Modern technical solutions provide sustainable operation, equipment durability and economic efficiency.
