NIIK Participated in the Arab Fertilizers Association (AFA) 2025 Conference and Exhibition

Specialists from the Research and Design Institute of Urea (NIIK) took part in the technical seminar and exhibition of the Arab Fertilizer Association (AFA), held on September 16–18 in Morocco. This was the first major event for NIIK after the company’s membership in the Association was restored.

The forum gathered over 600 participants from 50 countries worldwide, bringing together key players in the global mineral fertilizer production and supply chain. The conference theme, “New Technologies in the Fertilizer Industry: Balancing Productivity and Environmental Responsibility,” reflected the current trends and challenges of the industry.

Particular attention was given to the Arab region, which, thanks to significant reserves of natural gas, phosphorites, and potassium chloride, has strengthened its position as a leading producer of mineral fertilizers. Among the most promising countries, Egypt was highlighted for its developed logistics and relatively low energy costs amid rising prices in Europe.

NIIK continues to develop partnerships with Arab mineral fertilizer producers. The results of joint work include the stable operation of enterprises in Egypt, Qatar, Algeria, and other countries. During the conference, negotiations and technical meetings took place where NIIK specialists demonstrated strong interest in promoting modern engineering solutions in the Middle East market.

Opportunities for cooperation in the production of complex fertilizers, as well as in providing services for corrosion inspection and equipment repair, were discussed. Special emphasis was placed on reducing resource consumption, cutting CO₂ emissions, and increasing productivity. NIIK’s unique solutions for cleaning exhaust air from urea production facilities attracted heightened interest from conference participants.

For NIIK, partnerships with fertilizer producers in the Arab region provide the expansion of export opportunities for promoting its patented technologies and solutions, access to new markets and innovations from friendly countries, and strengthening cooperation in the field of gas chemistry.
