Partnership in the Global Market: Strengthening Our Position in India
As a key Russian licensor in the mineral fertilizer production sector, NIIK has extensive experience working with Indian manufacturers, giving the company a strong portfolio of successful projects. The internal components of NIIK’s synthesis reactor design have proven to be highly effective in reducing energy consumption, a fact that has been confirmed through performance testing at production sites both in Russia and abroad.Although cooperation with India was temporarily suspended due to COVID-19-related restrictions, interest in NIIK’s technologies remained strong. In 2024, NIIK regained its status as a member of FAI and participated in the conference as a full-fledged partner.
The event took place from December 4–7, 2024, in New Delhi. The conference was opened by Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda Ji, the Honorable Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers, as well as for Health and Family Welfare. Among the distinguished guests were representatives from Indian ministries responsible for the production of nitrogen fertilizers, phosphoric acid, NP/NPK fertilizers, and SSP plants.
The conference featured four technical sessions, with 17 presentations from speakers from India and other countries. Topics included recent reforms in India's fertilizer sector, global market prospects, innovations in agriculture, and sustainable farming practices. Key themes included the latest technologies in fertilizer production and their implementation in real-world facilities.

The in-depth exchange on industry challenges and best practices has been a crucial step in rebuilding our relationships with Indian partners. Interest in NIIK's advanced technologies—such as those for plant inspections and repairs in urea production—has grown significantly. The conference also gave us the opportunity to showcase the results of years of research and development, as well as new solutions that can improve operational efficiency."
Another important takeaway for NIIK was the opportunity to establish connections with new suppliers of materials and equipment. Strengthening ties with Indian companies will help reduce development timelines for new projects and enhance the competitiveness of our products in the market. Additionally, incorporating India’s experience into fertilizer production processes could serve as a catalyst for further business growth.
As a result of the conference, new areas of potential development and joint projects were identified, which NIIK plans to pursue in the near future. We are confident that these strengthened ties with India will help solidify our position on the global stage and further establish NIIK as an international leader in scientific and engineering expertise.
