Repair works at TOAZ
At the end of May, engineers from Laboratory No. 8 carried out a corrosion and technical condition inspection for the main process equipment at Urea Unit No. 2 at PJSC Togliattiazot.As part of the inspection, the heat-exchange tubes of the equipment were checked by eddy current method. Specialists examined welds and joints of the equipment using penetrant inspection: special solutions were applied to reveal the smallest cracks in the steel. Thus, the information on the technical condition of the units was updated and the risks during operation were significantly reduced.
The unit was repaired by 10 employees of laboratory No. 8. Thanks to their professional skills, the entire scope of work was completed in the shortest possible time.
These works became a part of the repair campaign which started at the end of spring. As the Client noted, summer is the most critical period in operation of TOAZ units, considering the growing demand for urea.
