JSC NIIK participated in the 30th AFA International Annual Conference
The 30th Anniversary AFA International Fertilizer Conference and Exhibition was held from the 27th to the 29th of February 2024 in Cairo, Egypt.The strategic importance of the Arab region has been growing in recent years due to the continuous focus on food security, agricultural sector productivity and environmental protection. Due to this, a large number of visitors and participants are usually attracted. The event brings together fertilizer companies and distributors, potential investors in future projects from the Middle East and Africa, Europe, North and South America and, of course, Asia.
Conference participants held discussions on the prospects for the agricultural sector, logistics and supply chain, renewable power sources, green ammonia and hydrogen, and investment prospects in the Middle East.
Presence in the Arab region and participation in its economic processes is a priority for NIIK. Based on the previously implemented projects and the contacts established, NIIK specialists are negotiating to continue cooperation with Egyptian companies.
The greatest interest for JSC NIIK is represented by the prospects to make corrosion inspections and equipment repair, including eddy current method. This was once again confirmed by the negotiations held at the conference, during which three Egyptian companies reviewed the possibility of concluding a contract with NIIK.
Another topic that is being actively discussed all over the world today is the production of 32.5% urea solution AUS32 (international name is AdBlue). This substance is used for cleaning exhaust gases of diesel transport and represent (32.5%) urea solution of high purity in demineralized water. The AdBlue agent allows to reduce significantly the amount of harmful substances in the exhaust gases of heavy-duty vehicles and ensures their compliance with modern environmental standards.
The parties also discussed options for construction of a plant in Egypt based on NIIK technologies. The proprietary technology for production of AUS32, which has been successfully operating since 2021 at the leading Russian plant, makes it possible to definitely think about new prospective reference projects for our Company in the Arab region.
Participation in the forum of Arab fertilizer producers AFA once again demonstrated wide opportunities for integration of NIIK technologies and developments into the chemical industry not only in Russia, but also in the world companies producing nitrogen fertilizers.
