The eighth urea unit equipped with a Set of Internal Devices designed by NIIK appeared in India. It allows increasing the efficiency of the reactor and reducing energy consumption. Over the course of several years, it has successfully proven itself in various urea plants in Russia and in the countries of near and far abroad. In India, this is already the eighth urea plant equipped with a Set of Internal Devices designed by NIIK, specifically a vortex mixer.The ordering customer of NIIK was Yara Fertilizers India, which is part of Yara International, the world's largest fertilizer producer. The Vortex Mixer is installed at the plant in Babrala. This time due to the coronavirus pandemic, warranty tests after the installation of the equipment were carried out online. Based on the results of warranty tests, an increase in the degree of conversion of carbon dioxide and a decrease in the recycle of ammonium carbamate were recorded. This led to a saving of medium pressure steam in the distillation units. The guaranteed indicator was reached, while the value of the achieved steam savings exceeded the guaranteed value.
