NIIK reference list is now completed with another methanol project
The unused production areas of former KHIMPROM plant in Volgograd will house a new modern methanol unit with capacity 1 million tons per year. Actually this will be construction of a new plant, the size of which may be compared with chemical production complexes in Mendeleevsk and Gubakha. For realization of the future project the Client, company GTM ONE from Moscow, cooperates with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) selected as engineering company.
Licensor FEED adaptation and project documentation development with State expertize will be started in JSC NIIK in the near future.
The challenge of this project is in continuation of construction not only plants for production of mineral fertilizers but also for other products of gas chemical complex, methanol plant in this case.
Evaluation of worldwide trends at oil and gas markets, innovations results and economic priorities make NIIK follow the way of diversification and business extension. The future large-scale methanol production plant in Volgograd is a perfect example of activities in this direction.
The second interesting facet of this project for JSC NIIK is continuation of partnership with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. Being started almost ten years ago with construction of Ammonia-Methanol-Urea complex in Mendeleevsk, results orientated interaction of MHI and NIIK resumed in construction of other chemical plants.
The fact that Japanese consortium selected in particular NIIK, witnessed ultimate competence, high quality of projects according to international standards and compliance with the most recent trends of modern engineering in the past project.
Some MHI specialists will stay in JSC NIIK office for having interactive meetings between NIIK and MHI. Such kind of cooperation has been proved to be effective during construction of AMU complex in Mendeleevsk.
