This year the forum was attended by Russian president Vladimir Putin. Among Russian officials, three Deputy Prime Ministers, 15 ministers, 14 heads of federal agencies and 16 heads of Russian Federation territories took part in panel and open discussions, presentations and roundtables. The list of attendees also includes high-ranking foreign politicians-10 foreign ministers and heads of diplomatic corps of 10 states.
The third Eastern Economic Forum was held in Vladivostok and its main topic was ‘The Russian Far East: Creating a New Reality’. Eleven oil and gas projects worth more than 3 trillion rubles with overall capacity of 38, 5 million ton of the finished product providing more than 14 000 job positions were presented. These included construction of Amur Gas Processing and Amur Oil processing Plants, Eastern Oil Chemicals Complex, Nahodka Fertilizer plant and other methanol and nitrogen fertilizers facilities. NIIK is already working on a number of projects.
Mr Esin took part in a session on doing business in the Far East (Chemical utilization of oil and gas in the Russian Far East: a new business niche) demonstrating the specifics of Far Eastern regions and presenting potential and opportunities of the area.
There is a great potential for production and consumption of gas petrochemical products in Russia and Asia-Pacific region. The Russian Far East is positioned as one of the most strategically important regions - development of its manufacturing strength and expending Russian government's state investment programs for it determine Russia’s role in a major economic area of the world.
Stating it during plenary session Mr Esin assured the forum’s participants that NIIK has necessary experience in cooperation with foreign process licensors, the company is currently involved into preinvestment stage of Far East projects and is ready to broad the scale and scope of its contribution.
