President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin gave a start to Ammoni complex in Mendeleevsk


     On 12 February President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin gave a start to the integrated complex for producing ammonia, methanol and granulated urea. The ceremony took place via video conference. The megaproject on production of nitrogen fertilizers has been officially launched.
     Ammoni has already reached its planned production capacity. Vladimir Putin congratulated the senior government officials and all the team for successfully implementing this project being the largest in Russia based on the technology of natural gas processing and the first for production of fertilizers for many years.
     The licensees were working in tandem with foreign contractors. NIIK joined their closed union performing the adaptation of the base project to Russian norms and rules and developing the project and detailed documentation. Being general designer and general contractor NIIK implemented works on construction and installation of utility and energy infrastructure, including installation of urea storage facility with capacity 50 000 tons, liquid ammonia storage tank with capacity 20000 м3, alkalis storage facilities, methanol tank and other objects.
     The first ammonia product was released in June 2015. Assembly&installation as well as commissioning works and obtaining necessary permits met the stipulated deadlines.
