The place of the Convention has been chosen in Qatar which holds the third largest reserves of natural gas in the world. The “QAFCO” complex is the largest production site for fertilizers which also encompass ammonia, urea, melamine production plants, CO2 recovery unit etc.
In the frame of the Convention our representatives had the opportunity to visit a giant factory.
Approximately 120 delegates from different countries including FSU region, Gulf countries, Central Asia, Europe and South America took part in the event. The conference was divided into thematic sessions, the information presented in the reports covered the recent developments and interesting issues in the fertilizers field. The authors shared their experiences on cooperation, modernization and construction of the new urea, ammonia and complex fertilizers production plants.
Audience's particular attention and interest to presentations should be noted. Considering a busy but homely atmosphere in the conference the networking was rather informal and spontaneous. The attendees had group sessions in which they could meet their colleagues with whom they maintain regular contacts. New working relationships were also established.
The delegation from JSC NIIK would like to extend the deepest gratitude to GPCA and CRU for excellent organization, interesting selection of presentations, warmness ant attention to the delegates.
